A retrospective exhibition with JAVA-graphics by the British artist David Brown will be inaugurated at the Ministry of Culture’s "Sredets" Gallery on August 20th at 18.00 p.m.
The exhibition which is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, includes about 30 prints from the period from 2005 onwards, when the author developed new methods for digital printing using the computer language JAVA.
The works are from three main directions in his art: abstract images created using mathematical models - the model of the “unexpected behavior” is used - surprisingly complex variations can sometimes be created by perfectly simple models. The second direction is landscapes and architectural graphics elements that represent the building and examine the manipulation and perception of space. The third direction is portraits that broadcast nature, energy and mood.
David Brown is an artist who lives and works in Cambridge, UK. More about his work can be found at his personal website: www.davidbrownprintmaker.com
