 The Minister of Culture Atanas Atanasov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Bulgaria HE Mrs. Eileen Sekizkök. The conversation on Friday at the Ministry of Culture was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Minister Mr. Nikolay Saykov, the Director of the Directorate for International Cooperation, European Programmes and Regional Activities Dr. Petar Miladinov, Ms. Esin Topcu, Adviser to the Ambassador, as well as and Mr. Ahmet Zeyrek, First Secretary at the Turkish Embassy in Sofia.
 At the beginning of the conversation, Minister Atanasov thanked for the meeting and stressed the good relations between the two countries, as well as our significant joint cooperation in the field of cultural heritage and its preservation, expressing hope that their tradition of enrichment will be continued. For her part, HE Eileen Sekizkök thanked the leadership of the Ministry and wished success to the team in future initiatives.
 During the meeting it was agreed to deepen cultural cooperation between our countries with strong ties, and also discussed issues of the common agenda and new projects. The possibility for a new study of the idea of establishing cultural centers in the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Turkey was considered, as well as the mutual process of preserving the movable and immovable cultural heritage of the countries was discussed. Minister Atanasov stressed the traditionally well-developed tourism between the two countries. He hoped that the current significantly increased budget for culture would be able to support significant future joint projects and initiatives in the field of culture and the arts.
 On the occasion of the upcoming celebration in 2023 of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey HE Sekizkök invited Minister Atanasov to attend the premiere of a documentary in May this year in Sofia.
 At the end of the conversation, Minister Atanasov and HE Eileen Sekizkök once again emphasized our valuable good neighborliness, expressing readiness for further meetings.
