 The Minister of Culture Atanas Atanasov held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bulgaria Khalid bin Kamal Fakih. The meeting yesterday at the Ministry of Culture was also attended by the Director of the Directorate for International Cooperation, European Programmes and Regional Activities - Dr. Petar Miladinov and the Minister Plenipotentiary at the Embassy Dr. Nayef bin Asai.
 At the beginning of the conversation, Minister Atanasov stressed the importance of the development of bilateral cultural ties between the two countries, expressing hope that the exchange in the direction of music, theater and film art, museums and galleries will be encouraged, and that in addition to projects already under way, entirely new ideas of mutual interest in the field of arts and culture will be developed.
  For his part, HE Fakih stressed the great importance of cultural development for Saudi Arabia in the context of good diplomatic relations between the two countries. HE Fakih expressed his conviction that on the eve of the launch of the first scheduled flight between the capitals of Sofia and Riyadh, the partnership between our countries in the field of cultural tourism will be accelerated. The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia expressed readiness to expand bilateral cooperation by organizing reciprocal days of culture in the two countries, which could include exhibitions of traditional costumes on both sides; participation of artists on a reciprocal basis in various festivals, including folklore, exhibitions, thanks to which the two peoples get to know each other better.
  The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia asked for support from Bulgaria for the candidacy of Riyadh to host the World Expo 2030.
  H.E. Khalid bin Kamal Fakih also said that there is serious interest from Saudi Arabia in investing in Bulgaria. Enhancing cultural tourism between the two countries would encourage the process, he added. In this context, he invited Minister Atanasov to visit Saudi Arabia, where he would meet with the Minister of Culture of the Kingdom - Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, and Minister Atanasov expressed his readiness to receive his Saudi counterpart in Bulgaria.
