The Bulgarian Minister of Culture Atanas Atanasov and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia Ms. Bisera Kostadinovska-Stoychevska signed a Programme for Cooperation in the Field of Culture between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia 2022-2025. This happened today, within the third meeting of the Working Group for Cooperation in the Field of Culture, Education and Science, Tourism and Youth and Sports between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia, held at the Boyana Residence.
The cultural cooperation programme signed today was developed as a result of discussions between working groups on both sides at a joint meeting in Skopje. It includes new proposals and conceptual projects for partnership to expand and diversify the range of bilateral cultural cooperation. At the same time, it is more comprehensive in terms of areas of activity and contains more specific parameters.
The possibilities for cooperation in the field of performing and visual arts, museums, cultural heritage, book publishing and book distribution, library work, film art and intangible cultural heritage are regulated. The programme also creates a favorable framework for deepening cooperation in the field of cultural and creative industries, as well as internationally - at the level of participation in the programmes of the Council of Europe, the European Union and others, in the field of culture and preservation of cultural heritage. The document also provides an opportunity to intensify the development of cooperation between the Cultural Information Center of the Republic of Bulgaria in Skopje and the Cultural Information Center of the Republic of North Macedonia in Sofia. The envisaged term of the programme is three years, with the possibility of automatic renewal for the next three years.
A bilateral Programme for cooperation in the field of education was signed at the event today, as well as Memoranda of Partnership in Youth and Sport, as well as between the national agencies for Erasmus + and the European Solidarity Corps.
