The European Commission has announced 13 new sites that have been awarded the European Heritage Label for 2025 in recognition of their key role in European history and culture.

  At a handover ceremony held today, 19 February 2026, at the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria, the newly appointed Minister of Culture, Nayden Todorov, took over the position from his predecessor, Marian Bachev.

  Culture Minister Marian Bachev led the Bulgarian delegation at the Cooperation for Resilience international culture conference held in Uzhgorod, Ukraine, on February 1 and 2. The forum gathered culture ministers from 28 countries, European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport Glenn Micallef, and UNESCO representatives, the Culture Ministry-s official website said on Monday. The event was organized by Ukraine-s Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications in collaboration with the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration and UNESCO-s Recovery Support Office.
