About
The Bulgarian Institute of Culture in Bratislava exists since 1971 as a second Culture Centre of Bulgaria within the former Czechoslovakia. Since 01.01.1993, when Slovakia gained statute of an independent state, the Bulgarian Institute of Culture in Bratislava plays a new role and has new importance in Bulgaria’s cultural policy as the country’s cultural representation.
BIC in Bratislava has exhibition hall, where apart from exhibitions, displaying books, it also organises concerts, meetings and conferences. It organises almost all of its activities with the aid of sponsors.
The statute and activity of BIC in Bratislava are regulated by the Inter-government Treaty on Centres of Culture, currently in force, signed on 10.04.1978 and renewed on 03.07.1981.
