The Bulgarian National Institute for Immovable Cultural Heritage will cooperate with the French Center for National Monuments. This was discussed today during a meeting in the French capital by the Minister of Culture Prof. Velislav Minekov and the President of the Center for National Monuments in Paris, Philippe Belaval. The meeting was held with the participation of the Chief of Staff of Minister Minekov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boris Danailov.
Minister Minekov pointed out that for our country the exchange of experience and good practices with the Center for National Monuments is of key importance, as we want to learn the best of European practice. He pointed out that Bulgaria would benefit from the experience of France in the formation of a special police unit for the protection of cultural heritage, which will be established on his initiative.
At the end of the conversation, Philippe Belaval said that now, more than thirty years after the packaging of the Pont Neuf, the packaging of the Arc de Triomphe, designed by Christo and Jean-Claude, is expected to be a truly global event. Minister Minekov expressed gratitude for the fact that the Center for National Monuments in Paris has helped to realize the dream of the cosmopolitan artist with Bulgarian roots.
Minister Minekov pointed out that the implementation of this project is a shining example of how heritage and creativity can come together to offer people around the world a moment of shared joy, while drawing their attention to the need to appreciate and preserve their cultural heritage.
At the end of today, Minister Minekov will meet with Bulgarian intellectuals and artists at the Embassy of our country in Paris.
