9th FESTIVAL OF THE BULGARIAN CINEMA IN PRAGUE

The Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Prague and the Bulgarian Embassy in the Czech Republic are organizing the 9th Festival of the Bulgarian Cinema. From 2 to 8 of March 2017 fans of the film art in the Czech capital will be able to watch some of the most valuable, award-winning, discussed and loved current Bulgarian feature movies and documentaries. Co-organizers of the festival are the Executive Agency National Film Center, EC Representation in the Check Republic and Lucerna Cinema. The movies will be screened in Lucerna Cinema and in the hall of the European Cultural Center – EC Representation on the Czech Republic.

TENTH NATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXHIBITION ‘BULGARIAN ARCHAEOLOGY 2016’

   For the tenth anniversary year the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences organizes the National Archaeological Exhibition ‘Bulgarian Archaeology 2016’. Traditionally, it presents the results from studies in the last archaeological season, exhibiting some of the most interesting finds and extensive illustrative material. This year co-organizers are 13 historical and archaeological museums in the country, participating with finds from their funds.

MINISTER RASHKO MLADENOV WAS AMONG THE OFFICIAL GUESTS OF THE CELEBRATION OF THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY SINCE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE BULGARIAN CULTURAL INSTITUTE ‘WITTGENSTEIN HOUSE’

Minister of Culture in the caretaker government Rashko Mladenov was among the official guests at the celebration of the 40th anniversary since the establishment of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute ‘Wittgenstein House’ in Vienna, the beginning of which was launched by a concert of ‘Quatro piano +’ on four grand pianos and percussions.

THE MINISTER MR. VEZHDI RASHIDOV OPENED IN PLOVDIV THE EXHIBITION “THE LOUVRE IN BULGARIA. MEETING THE EGYPTIAN PRIEST”

   The Minister of Culture Mr. Vezhdi Rashidov opened the exhibition “The Louvre in Bulgaria. Meeting the Egyptian Priest” in the city of Plovdiv, which is part of the five-year Agreement between Bulgaria and the Louvre Museum in Paris signed in 2012. The exposition includes 22 extremely valuable pieces related to Egyptian religion during the first millennium B.C.

THE MINISTER OF CULTURE MR. VEZHDI RASHIDOV SUPPORTED THE LARGEST BULGARIAN OPERA PROJECT FOR 2015 IN GERMANY

   The Minister of Culture Mr. Vezhdi Rashidov who is on a one-day working visit to Germany, attended the presentation of the largest Bulgarian-German opera project for 2015 - the magnificent spectacle ”The Ring of the Nibelungs”, which will be presented from 12 to 17 September this year at the Festival Theatre in Füssen.

PLOVDIV OFFICIALLY NAMED EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE

   On 19 May 2015, EU culture ministers approved Plovdiv and the Italian city of Matera be named European Capital of Culture 2019.
