BY THE END OF OCTOBER 2015 THE LARGE-SCALE PROJECT “SERDICA ANCIENT CULTURAL AND COMMUNICATION COMPLEX” WILL BE COMPLETED

   The start of the final stage of the implementation of the project was attended today by the Minister of Culture Vezhdi Rashidov, the Mayor of the Sofia Municipality Yordanka Fandakova, the Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova and the Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov.

VEZHDI RASHIDOV WAS ONE OF THE FIRST EU MINISTERS OF CULTURE TO SUPPORT A DECLARATION PROTECTING THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF ARTISTIC EXPRESSION AND CREATIVITY

   Minister Vezhdi Rashidov was one of the first Ministers of Culture of the European Union who supported a collective declaration protecting the freedom of artistic expression and creativity on the day of the demonstration in Paris provoked by the terrorist attack against the satirical magazine “Charlie Hebdo”.

VEZHDI RASHIDOV SIGNED IN PARIS THE AGREEMENT FOR THE FIRST IN HISTORY BULGARIAN EXHIBITION IN THE LOUVRE

   “Bulgaria is lucky to have a minister like Vezhdi Rashidov”. With these words Dr. Jean-Luc Martinez – President of the Louvre welcomed in his office in the late Thursday evening the Bulgarian Minister of Culture Vezhdi Rashidov. They both signed the official agreement for the exhibition of the Thracian treasures at the Louvre which will be opened on 15 April 2015 and will continue for three months.

PLOVDIV TO BE 2019 EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE IN BULGARIA

The independent selection panel, responsible for assessing the Bulgarian cities competing to be European Capital of Culture in 2019, has recommended that Plovdiv should be awarded the title.
