THE BULGARIAN NATIONAL FILM ARCHIVE EXPANDS ITS PRESENCE IN THE ONLINE PORTAL EUROPEAN FILM GATEWAY WITH 38 MORE UNIQUE FILM MATERIALS FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE LAST CENTURY, UPLOADED ON 24 NOVEMBER THIS YEAR
This year the Bulgarian National Film Archive (BNFA) became the newest partner of the European Film Gateway platform on the occasion of the World Day of Audiovisual Heritage — 27 October, when the first 5 films of the national collection were uploaded. The European Film Gateway (EFG) features 38 film archives providing free access to over 53,000 film titles and over 600,000 images. The film gateway is linked to Europeana, the European Union-s web portal, which gives access to over 58 million digitised works of art, books, artifacts, audio and video from all over Europe.

SINCE 11:30 p.m. ON FRIDAY 27 NOVEMBER UNTIL 21 DECEMBER 2020 ADDITIONAL ANTI-EPIDEMIC MEASURES ARE INTRODUCED IN THE COUNTRY
By Order No. RD-01-677/25.11.2020 issued today by the Health Minister since 11:30 p.m. on 27 November, Friday, until 21 December 2020, additional anti-epidemic measures are introduced in the country.
Through the document all cultural and entertainment events (cinemas, museums, galleries, stage events, concerts, dance, creative and musical arts classes, etc.) are suspended.

The Parliament adopted the budget of the Ministry of Culture for 2021 of BGN 245 million during its sitting today. At this sitting the State Budget Bill for the next year was adopted at second reading.

THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE ALSO SUPPORTS FREELANCE WRITERS WITH A NEW PROGRAM TO SUPPORT CREATIVE PROJECTS IN THE FIELD OF LITERATURE
The Ministry of Culture will also support freelance writers with an entirely new program to support creative projects in the field of literature. The aim of the program is to provide targeted financial support to Bulgarian authors for the creation of new literary works in all genres on a competitive basis and in compliance with the principles of equality, maximum efficiency, publicity and control in the allocation of financial resources.

THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS APPROVED A BILL AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING THE FILM INDUSTRY ACT
The Council of Ministers adopted a Decision for approving a Bill Amending and Supplementing the Film Industry Act.
For the adaptation of the Bulgarian film industry to the requirements and the realities of 2020, changes have been made to Art.17 in the bill in order to increase the funding of national film production, the separation of the support for festivals and cultural events into a separate scheme, as well as the creation of a new reimbursement scheme, which would have the effect of stimulating the investments in the sector.

Minister Boil Banov and representatives of the French Agency for Museums, the French Embassy in Bulgaria, the French Institute and the UAE Embassy visited the island “St. St. Kirik and Yulita” near Sozopol and discussed the concept of turning it into a World Center of Arts.
