BULGARIA OFFERED TO HOST A MEETING TO DISCUSS THE PROGRESS IN ESTABLISHING A SOUTHEAST EUROPEAN CULTURAL CO-OPERATION FUND

   The Deputy Minister of Culture Amelia Gesheva attended the Sixth Ministerial Conference of the Council of Minister of Culture of South-East Europe under the motto: “Strengthening the role of culture for sustainable development”. The forum was held on 1 February in Rijeka, the Republic of Croatia.

STUDY CLASSES WILL ALSO BE HELD IN LIBRARIES

  In addition to museums and art galleries, study classes would also be held in libraries. This is envisioned in the Third Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Culture, signed by Ministers Krasimir Valchev and Boil Banov in the St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library today.

MINISTER BANOV: PLOVDIV GAVE ONLY THE START TO A SUSTAINABLE PROJECT - "EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE"

    “The European Capital of Culture is a long-term project. Over the past year, we have only set the stage, a positive start and an achievement for the culture of Bulgaria, of Europe, and of the world. There is serious work to be done now, and it is up to all of us to ensure the sustainability of this project and that it persists in time. Years from now, I am sure that it will bring added value to the development of our spirit and culture. Everything can happen when people are united." With these words, the Minister of Culture Boil Banov took part in the ceremony for handing over the title of the European Capital of Culture from Plovdiv to Galway (Ireland) and Rijeka (Croatia). The event at the Boris Hristov House of Culture was launched by the hosts - the Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov and the Deputy Mayor Plamen Panov who welcomed partners, representatives of the executive and local authorities, the diplomatic corps, guests from the family of the European capitals and part of the teams that have worked on the project over the years.

THE APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR THE 13 CENTURIES OF BULGARIA NATIONAL AWARD FOR SUPPORTING YOUNG TALENTS IN CONTEMPORARY ART AND SCIENCE EXTENDED UNTIL 20 JANUARY THIS YEAR

  In connection with the great interest, the 13 Centuries of Bulgaria National Endowment Fund extends the deadline for submitting documents for the 13 Centuries of Bulgaria National Award in support of young talents in contemporary art and science until 20 January 2020, 5 p.m.
