PLOVDIV MUNICIPALITY WILL MANAGE THE THE BISHOP-S BASILICA OF PHILIPPOPOLIS FOR A PERIOD OF 10 YEARS

   By decision of the Council of Ministers, the management of part of a property which is a public state property, is gratuitously granted for a period of 10 years to the Plovdiv Municipality.

 The National Institute of Immovable Cultural Heritage (NIICH) moved to a new address — 17 Aleksandar Stamboliyski Blvd., where the building of the Ministry of Culture is located.

THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PASSED THE FILM INDUSTRY ACT AT SECOND READING

   The National Assembly adopted, definitively at the second reading, amendments to the Film Industry Act, providing for an increase in the financing of the national film production. The adopted amendments to the normative document provide for the division of support for festivals and cultural events into a separate scheme, as well as the creation of new State aid schemes for the production of series and for the reimbursement of costs for the production of films and series.

THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE SUPPORTS MEDIA LITERACY DAYS – 2021

  For the fourth consecutive year, the Media Literacy Coalition (MLC) organizes the campaign Media Literacy Days. Through a series of events and initiatives, the coalition puts on the agenda the importance and necessity of developing media literacy for citizens of all ages.

 The campaign is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Small Grants Program of the US Embassy in Bulgaria, the America for Bulgaria Foundation, UNICEF – Bulgaria, TechSoup Europe and Funky Citizens.

THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF SOFIA FILM FEST WILL TAKE PLACE ON 11 MARCH IN HALL 1 OF THE NATIONAL PALACE OF CULTURE

At the opening ceremony, the Sofia Award will be presented to the outstanding musician, film and theatre composer Teodosiy Spasov for his contribution to the art of cinema and music

   The Sofia Film Fest international film festival is preparing for its 25th anniversary. The film festival started as a thematic festival of cinema and music and has evolved over the years to become one of the most significant film events in Central and Eastern Europe, the only Bulgarian film festival with FIAPF accreditation, included in the list of the 50 most important film festivals in the world and in FIPRESCI-s calendar.
