THE ANDREY DANIEL – THE LAST 7 YEARS EXIHIBITION IS ON DISPLAY AT THE ACADEMY SOFIA GALLERY

The exhibition, realized under a project of the Vapreki foundation with the support of the Culture National Fund, Audiences programme, will be shown for the first time in Sofia

  The Andrey Daniel – the Last 7 Years photo exhibition by Stefan Dzhambazov will be shown at the Academy Gallery of the National Academy of Art from 7 to 23 January 2021. The organisers say there is something symbolic about the event coming on the eve of the one-year anniversary of the death of the great artist and teacher – January 24.

MINISTRY OF CULTURE HONOURS VETERAN ARTISTS ON THE OCCASION OF CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR-S HOLIDAYS

Residents of the Home received gifts and products, as well as a donation of new mattresses

    The Ministry of Culture kept the long-standing tradition and honoured the artists from the Home for Veterans of Culture and Arts in Sofia-s residential district Zaharna Fabrika. On the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays, gifts, traditional products for the festives and congratulations to the veterans were provided for a consecutive year.

CULTURE REMAINS AN INDISPUTABLE NATIONAL PRIORITY IN 2021 AS WELL

  The state and independent artists and organizations, who are facing limited activities, were supported by additional funds, and the commitment to them is laid down in the next budget for the culture

  Culture is an undisputed national priority and in the past year the government showed it with its support to the sector – not only financially, but also by creating opportunities to provide a peaceful environment for creative development and expression during the months of health crisis.

THE ALBUM “THE BULGARIAN CZECHS” WITH A PRESTIGIOUS AWARD

The album “The Bulgarian Czechs”, created by the Bulgarian Embassy and the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Prague, received a prestigious award from the Bulgarian Book Association.  The project was implemented in partnership with the Archives State Agency, the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, the National Archaeological Institute with a Museum at BAN, the State Cultural Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the authoritative book publishing house Trud. The trilingual edition is a logical continuation of the eponymous exhibition and is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the Czech and Slovak republics. It is no accident that this year the edition was officially presented in the gallery of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Prague by the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and her Czech colleague Tomáš Petříček.

THE PARTICIPATION OF OUR COUNTRY IN THE TRADUKI PROJECT CONTINUES

   The Council of Ministers approved a draft Framework Agreement on the support and mediation for translation projects in Southeast Europe for the Traduki Project.

   Traduki is a European network for literature and books. In most European countries, translation programmes are already an integral part of national programmes and initiatives aimed at promoting and distributing the literature and culture of the countries. The European Traduki Network, established in 2008, goes beyond this framework, choosing an international and multilateral approach and adding supranational aspects to the support for translations and literature. Traduki focuses on exchanges between German-language literature and the literature of Southeast European countries, as well as literary exchanges within Southeast Europe.

MINISTER BANOV TOOK PART IN THE VIDEO CONFERENCE TITLED “CULTURAL RECOVERY AND COPYRIGHT. THE FUTURE OF EUROPE”, ORGANIZED BY THE MEP ANDREY SLABAKOV

  The Minister of Culture Boil Banov participated today in a videoconference titled:  “Cultural Recovery and Copyright. The Future of Europe”, organized by the MEP Andrey Slabakov. The discussions were attended by MEPs, the Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel, experts and representatives of more than 25 creative unions and associations who united around the thesis that the questions raised are not only valid for Bulgaria, but for the whole European Union, and all of them should and can be solved with joint efforts.
