Culture Minister Vladimir Penev will be among the official guests at the opening of the sculptural portrait of actor Grigor Vachkov (1932 - 1980), which is scheduled for May 22 /Wednesday/ at 13:00 pm in the City Park in front of the National Theatre "Ivan Vazov" in Sofia.

   On May 21 (Saturday) at 11:00 am, at the National Library "St. St. Cyril and Methodius", Culture Minister Vladimir Penev will open the exhibition of old Bulgarian original manuscripts "In the Light of the Word", dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the Moravian mission of St. Cyril and St. Methodius.

   Culture Minister Vladimir Penev will bestow on May 20, 2013 /Monday/ the traditional annual awards to prominent artists and cultural figures in commemoration of May 24 - Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and Slavonic Literature.

   On May 17, 2013 Minister of Culture Vladimir Penev and Deputy Minister of Culture Deiana Danailova will take part in the Council on Education, Youth, Culture and Sports in Brussels. The meeting on "Culture and Audio-Vision" is to be held from 10:00 to 15:00 hours.

   Minister Vladimir Penev, who at the invitation of the Minister of Culture of the PRC, Mr. Cai Wu is participating in the ongoing First Forum on Cultural Cooperation Between China and the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe, met in Beijing today with his Chinese counterpart. The two ministers signed a Cooperation Program in the Field of Culture Between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Culture of the PRC for the period 2013-2016.

   With all the proper order of Athonite tradition and honors, the Holy Epistasia, headed by Maxim Iverit, and the civil governor of Mount Athos Aristos Kazmiroglu, welcomed the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Marin Raykov and accompanying persons to the capital of the Athonite Monastic Republic - Karen.
